CAAST-Net
- A Network for the Coordination and Advancement of Sub-Saharan Africa-EU Science and Technology Cooperation.
- National Contact Point NCPs (as they're known in short) are individuals appointed by national governments, and given official status by the European Commission, to provide information on the EU's Framework Programmes. Typically, NCPs are specialist researchers in a particular administrative area of FP7 - for example, legal, financial - or a particular theme - for example, energy. The NCP has the responsibility of providing support to the researchers of a particular country, thereby fostering greater take-up of the researchers from that country in the Framework Programme. For more information on NCPs in South Africa, for example, go to ESASTAP.
- Comment Users can comment on pages, which allows them to give feedback on a page without editing the content. There may also be pages which a user is unable to edit, but is nevertheless allowed to leave comments on.
- User An individual with a username and password for the CAAST-Net wiki. Users can have varying privileges within the wiki.
- Watchlist To help keep track of developments to the wiki, users can use the Watchlist. Specific pages or entire spaces can be added to the Watchlist. Once added, the user will be sent emails (at intervals decided by them) alerting them to any changes made to the page or space.
- Wiki A type of website, of which the CAAST-Net site is an example. A wiki enables a site's users to add to and edit the content on the site.
