CAAST-Net FP7 Information Days in Kenya and Cameroon

Next month, CAAST-Net will be hosting two more in series of FP7 information days to be organised over the life of the project. The events will take place in Yaoundé, Cameroon on 3 November, 2009 and Mombasa, Kenya on 9 November, 2009.

Both events carry the title: Opportunities for African Researchers to Participate in the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.

One of the goals of CAAST-Net is to play a role towards an enhanced participation of African entities in the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

Each event will therefore aim to foster both the sharing and discussion of: general information about FP7, current opportunities under FP7, and the best conditions for successful participation by African entities in FP7 projects. The events will also provide specific relevant information about schemes within FP7 of special appeal to African researchers and institutions.

CAAST-Net FP7 info days are of interest to researchers, decision-makers at research units, or representatives of national authorities aiming at implementing or reinforcing the promotion of FP7 National Information Points.

The Mombasa and Yaoundé info days are being organised in conjunction with the CAAST-Net Health Thematic Workshop in Yaoundé (4-5 November, 2009), as well as the CAAST-Net Stakeholders' Conference on Africa-Europe Cooperation in Science and Technology in Mombasa (9-11 November, 2009).
