31 August 2009 - Tuberculosis Vaccines Development Funding
A call for the support of clinical trials, capacity building and networking in tuberculosis vaccines development has been published by the EDCTP (European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership). Total funding is worth €3 million, however equivalent co-funding is expected from EDCTP-EEIG Member States. The deadline for submission of proposals is 15 December 2009. 18 August 2009 - IST-Africa FP7 Training Workshops
IST-Africa is organising a series of FP7 training workshops ahead of proposal deadlines. The following workshops are scheduled: Maseru, Lesotho on 21 September; Gaborone, Botswana on 23 September; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 28 September; and Maputo, Mozambique on 30 September. These workshops will focus on the latest round FP7 calls for proposals currently open: FP7-ICT-Call 5, FP7-Infrastructures-2010-2 and FP7-AFRICA-2010. 18 August 2009 - IST-Africa 2010 Conference: Call For Papers
The IST-Africa 2010 Conference and Exhibition, hosted by the government of South Africa through the Department of Science and Technology, will take place in Durban, South Africa, from 19 to 21 May 2010. Part of the IST-Africa Initiative, which is supported by the European Commission under the ICT Theme of Framework Programme 7 (FP7), IST-Africa 2010 is the fifth in an Annual Conference Series which brings together senior representatives from leading commercial, government and research organisations across Africa and from Europe, to bridge the digital divide by sharing knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice and discussing policy related issues. IST-Africa 2010 is also supported by the South Africa-Finland Knowledge Partnership on ICT project (SAFIPA) and technically co-sponsored by the Computer Society of South Africa. The scientific programme for IST-Africa 2010 is based on an open Call for Papers and the conference language is English. Interested presenters are encouraged to prepare an 8 page paper (4,000-5,000 words) following the IST-Africa 2010 paper guidelines and paper template for submission online by 06 November. Please observe the Paper Guidelines available at www.ist-africa.eu/conference2010/default.asp?page=paperguidelines and use the Paper Template provided when preparing your paper. All submissions will be double blind reviewed by the International Programme Committee and authors will receive feedback in mid January. Accepted authors will then be invited to submit a final paper taking account of feedback provided for inclusion in the conference proceedings by 19 February.
