Tutorial 1 - Registration and logging in

Logging in is easy!

For users who have already registered on the CAAST-Net website, simply enter your user name and password on the login page, which can be accessed via the list of links on of the left hand side of the screen (Image 1).

For users who have not yet registered, you will need to do so. Simply click the register button (right beneath the log-in button) on the left hand side of the screen (Image 2).

You will be directed to a registration form (Image 3), which will ask you to fill in your details.

Choose a log-in name and password.

Remember to fill in your e-mail address so we can keep you up-to-date on CAAST-Net's activities and outputs.

Once you have completed the registration form you will be informed if your registration has been successful.

Click on your log-in name - in the case of Image 5 "Test_User" - and you will be shown your user profile (Image 6).

Now you are ready to log in to the CAAST-Net website.

Click the "Log-in" button on the bottom left of your screen as you would view it (Image 7).

Then enter your details into the fields shown in Image 8.

PLEASE NOTE: The website is organised according to different levels of access control. Ordinary users will be able to see all "public" pages and post comments on these pages. However, ordinary users are restricted from editing these pages.

Certain sections, such as the "project workspace" of the site are restricted to members of the project.

If you try and access a page for which you don't have permission to view, you will receive a message telling you that you do not have the relevant rights to access that page or you will be directed to the log-in page.

If there is a page or section to which you think you should have access but can't get to, please contact the CAAST-Net website support desk.
