Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum

The EuroAfrica-ICT Partnership is organising the third Euro-Africa Cooperation Forum on Information and Communication Technology Research, which will take place in Helsinki, Finland, on 7 and 8 December 2010.

The event will focus on information, communication technologies research and e-infrastructure.

The EuroAfrica-ICT project is funded by the European Union's (EU) seventh framework program (FP7), which is the 27-member regional block's chief funding instrument for research and development. The project provides a platform for African, Caribbean and European research to share their knowledge, ideas and experiences on ICT and to identify joint projects that will harness ICT to bridge the scientific and digital divides, eliminate poverty and to promote socio-economic development.

The 500-member Association for Commonwealth Universities is a consortium partner and work package leader for the project. Prior to the Finnish meeting, the forum will attend the Africa-EU Summit on 29 and 30 November 2010 in Libya.
